Paint the town red: Hallowe’en in Dublin
Dracula, written in 1897 by Irishman Bram Stoker, is one of my all-time favourite books (if you haven’t read it yet, read it now, it’s free!). No surprise then I was excited to find out Dublin has an entire festival weekend dedicated to him, just before Hallowe’en.
Part of the festival included lighting historic buildings around Dublin blood-red, so on the final night I mapped the building locations and set off on my bike to see if I could find and capture them all on my mobile phone camera.
Sadly many of the buildings were disappointingly un-red. So I had fun messing around with filters on the ones that weren’t red and…well you can click to see the best results below:
Actually I really must get back into reading vampire novels, as it’s a genre I’ve always loved (Twilight aside)…at the very least I need to get around to finishing the Interview With A Vampire series by Anne Rice. Darren Shan’s vampire series was probably my all-time favourite series as a kid.
If anyone has any suggestions for vampire books I should read please leave them in the comments below (again, Twilight aside)!
