For the first time in EU history citizens will be able to elect candidates for the role of European Commission President. Granted, this option is (so far) limited to choosing the top two candidates from the European Green party, but it’s still a huge step forward for European democracy. If you’re living in the EU* and over 16 then I urge you to vote!

How can I vote?

  1. Visit http://greenprimary.europeangreens.eu/ to watch the videos & read the manifestos of the four candidates.
  2. Hit “GET STARTED” to set up your account.
  3. Log in and vote for either your favourite or top two candidates!

Deadline: 28th of January 2014, at 17:00 GMT!

Frustratingly the voting has been running since the 10th of November and the first I heard of it was last week! Please vote before the deadline is up and share #GreenPrimary so we can encourage more great initiatives like this in future.

With some predicting a turbulent year for the EU in 2014 due to a lack of accountability there’s never been a better time to start making your voice heard across the continent.
