Explore Dublin rental property prices, discover how much you could save by commuting and maybe even spot your next flat: I’ve built an interactive map of Dublin rental properties.
*** Update: my Dublin Flat Finder tool is temporarily unavailable due to a change in the sites where it gathers its data from affecting the code. I hope to find time in the next few weeks to sit down and spend some time adapting the code get it back online, apologies for the delay! ***
Property site Daft today published an infographic showing Dublin rental property prices are just 6% off their peak before the crash and rising, so I hope this tool can be helpful to anyone looking for a new flat.
It pulls data on 2,500 properties from a variety of sources, maps them by colour according to average monthly price and updates itself on a daily basis. You can also filter by the number of rooms you’re after.
This map is the first part of DublinPlug.in, a brand new website which I’m hoping to expand over the coming months. If you’d like to be updated when I add new projects to the site you can subscribe here.
Hi, did you ever try to revive this? It was immensely helpful back then when you put it up!
Hey! Unfortunately, being pretty busy with other projects it got too expensive to run and maintain and I never did return to it. Maybe one day I will revisit it, I’m glad you found it so helpful 🙂
The software I used to scrape the data from housing sites stopped running, and as property sites keep updating their layout it would regularly break my code. It’s possible now to use other scraping software, and to keep checking on the property sites, but it just became too much to keep on top of.
Hey Andrew! This was a really amazing tool that I used last year and would love to see it back up and running!
Do you have any plans to work out the new coding to pull the data?
